Memorize the natural notes on your low E (6th) and A (5th) strings:

1. Name all the natural notes on the low E (6th) string, ascending.
2. Name all the natural notes on the A (5th) string, ascending.
3. Name all the natural notes on the low E (6th) string, descending.
4. Name all the natural notes on the A (5th) string, descending.
5. Find each natural note on both the low E (6th) and A (5th) strings, ascending.
6. Find each natural note on both the low E (6th) and A (5th) strings, descending.
7. Find each natural note, alternating between the low E (6th) and A (5th) strings, ascending.
8. Find each natural note, alternating between the low E (6th) and A (5th) strings, descending.

Minimum: Given any natural note, be able to find it quickly on both the low E and A strings. Using the attached PDF, know how to find the same note one or two octaves higher on a different string. Know how to find sharps and flats between the natural notes.

Ambitious: Memorize the octave shapes. Be able to find any note on any string with no external reference.
